Puri Vs CGR Producer

In what is being seen as a shocking and unusual development, the incident of director Puri Jagannadh filing a complaint at Film Chamber against producer D V V Danayya regarding the payment for ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu’ has surprised many. Apparently, Puri has reportedly alleged that he is due to receive Rs 4.5 crores which was committed to him.
But Danayya is reportedly delaying it giving some reasons. However, here is some inside stuff on why Danayya has given hand to Puri and there are two versions making rounds. Firstly, it is heard that Puri committed he would complete the film in 70 days and Danayya committed that if  it happens then Puri will get Rs 11 crores.
Instead of 70 days, Puri wrapped it in 63 days. So, as per the word, Danayya should give the amount. But Danayya has reportedly not given the money and instead alleged that Puri just wrapped up the film to meet the target and did not focus on it properly. But then it is not true. Puri is giving daily reports as per schedule so the issue of ‘wrapping’ the film doesn’t arise.
The second version is that it is Pawan Kalyan who has put the spanner to the payment. His logic is, if Puri gets Rs 11 crores and if he gets Rs 13 crores and Tamanna gets Rs 1 crore then the budget will shoot somewhere. Already the film is releasing in deficit so why so much remuneration for Puri. Pawan has reportedly suggested that Rs 6.5 cr is a good figure more than that is not required.
The other important point Pawan reportedly made is, his last movie ‘Gabbar Singh’ was a blockbuster but his next film is coming in deficit so the problem lies with the director since Puri’s last film ‘DCM’ is a flop so why should Pawan’s film release in deficit when it is the doing of Puri. So, instead of stopping it like that Danayya is reportedly trying to term it as ‘wrapping’ and stop the payment.
However, Puri didn’t like it and that’s why he put a case. But another argument is that Pawan is not like that and he minds his own business.  Whatever the reasons or speculations may be, the fact that Puri is getting into a controversy is unexpected and this has come into hot discussion. At any cost, this should not fall on the aura and image of ‘CGR’. This is not good for big cinemas. This type of controversy doesn’t help and instead it causes a damage to the film.  Let us wish everything settles peacefully.
